Case Study: Ink Innovation and Turkish Technology demonstrate modularity in action
Industry context
Airlines are moving towards offerβorder retailing, but leaving delivery behind. The question remains: Can services like check-in, baggage, and boarding be managed alongside an Order system?
Collaboration
Turkish Technology and Ink Innovation worked together to prove how βdelivering with ordersβ could be made a working reality. From the outset, the collaboration is highly technical, with both sides aligning quickly on use cases.
βFrom the very first session, Turkish Technology brought their architects to the table, so alignment was fast and practical.β β Shawn Richards, CEO & Co-founder, Ink Innovation
For Turkish Technology, the project highlights agility and modularity:
βWith our own PSS, we can adapt quickly if something is working. Working with Ink allows us to connect digitally with anybody through APIs. Thatβs the idea, modularity guiding us.β β Ozbek Erdem Yetgin, Product Manager of Order Management System, Turkish Technology
Proof-of-Concept
The partners demonstrate multiple operational scenarios in real time. Orders manage services such as seat assignments, sports equipment, catering, and ancillary bundles. Passengers are checked in and boarded synced with the Order, with status updates flowing effortlessly across systems.
Because the solution follows IATA standards and exposes functions through modular APIs, integration is fast and requires minimal custom coding. Legacy documents are generated only when necessary, ensuring compatibility with todayβs processes.
Outcomes
The project shows that:
- Orders support real delivery processes across check-in, ancillaries, and boarding.
- Modularity and standards reduce integration effort.
- Airlines can progress incrementally, without waiting for a full system replacement.
As the Turkish Technology team confirms:
βWe are able to create an order without requiring PNRs or tickets, and still manage to deliver the total value using Inkβs delivery systemβ

Impact
This proof-of-concept demonstrates that βdelivering with ordersβ is already achievable. Airlines can modernise service delivery now, using modular APIs to bridge current systems and future architectures.
βDelivering with Orders is not just theory. It works now. Modularity is the enabler.β β Ben Waymark, VP Product Architecture, Ink Innovation
